Introducing Abingdon Chiropractor Dr. Tim Musick

Dr. Musick's grandfather was a chiropractor. His father was a skeptic. Thus, it wasn't until he received a football injury in high school that he had his first adjustment.  At that time his mother suggested he go visit his grandfather in Greensboro, North Carolina for care.  Since it was a four hour drive from Honaker, Virginia where he was raised, it was a great adventure. While leaving his grandfather's office after that first adjustment, in awe and feeling great, it was then he set his sights on becoming a chiropractor.

"Prior to the visit with my grandfather, I was leaning toward pharmacology, but after having such a great experience with chiropractic, I changed my mind," says Dr. Musick.

Dr. Musick began his chiropractic education at Southwest Virginia Community College in Richlands, Virginia.  There he  majored in science and music graduating cum laude.  After graduating from SVCC, he was accepted at Logan College of Chiropractic in St Louis, Missouri, his grandfather's alma mater and where his mother was born and raised.

During his four years at Logan College he was surprised to learn that chiropractic was much more than helping people with aches and pains.  It was about a new way of living with wonderful possibilities of acquiring and living a healthier life.  During that time he and his grandfather, Dr. John Faga, had many wonderful conversations about chiropractic, catching up previously missed opportunities.

Both of my parents became practice members when I opened the practice in 1980 and now, 26 years later at ages 81, they enjoy good health and are independent. This is the real gift of chiropractic and how I offer to care for you.

In our leisure time, my family and I enjoy fishing, biking, golf, walks on the Creeper Trail, going to the movies, and time with our families.  At home we enjoy trying new ways preparing healthy food and juicing.  Eating healthy is a lifestyle we enjoy.  We both get adjusted regularly and share the same with our children.

Enough about me!  How can we help you with today's safe and natural chiropractic care?  Give us a call so we can help you take your first step towards better health.

Do chiropractors prescribe medications for the pain?
No. Chiropractic is a drug-free approach to better health. Instead, we rely on natural methods. We can show you how to use ice to control pain. When properly applied, ice can have an analgesic effect without the unwanted and sometimes dangerous effects of pain medications.
How long will you need chiropractic care?
You'll need chiropractic care as long as you live in Abingdon and encounter physical, chemical or emotional stress that you cannot adapt to or accommodate. Ready to get started? Call our office today.
